ETAP Software Training

I recently completed the ETAP Software Training course. The registration process was straightforward on their website, and I received immediate confirmation. Access to the course materials was granted within 24 hours. The content was comprehensive, covering both theoretical aspects and practical applications. I appreciated the case studies included, which helped solidify my understanding. Instructor support was responsive; I had a question about a specific module, and they replied within a few hours. The platform itself was easy to navigate, and the video quality was consistently good. I found the pacing just right, allowing me to absorb complex information without feeling rushed. Overall, a well-structured and valuable training program for power systems engineers.

Good course material

Signed up for the relay programming course. It was pretty good. The videos were clear and I learned a lot. I had a quick question about one of the labs and the support team got back to me fast. Definitely helped me out with my work. Will check out more courses later.

Substation design course

Just finished the Substation Design Courses and it was fantastic! The instructors really know their stuff and made complex topics easy to understand. The materials were super detailed and I feel so much more confident in my skills now. It was worth every penny. I'm already looking at what other courses they offer!

Hey, thinking of signing up for one of the ETAP training courses. Are these things legit, like, do they actually give you a certificate you can use?

L Linda Nguyen 2 weeks ago
Yeah, they are. I took a protection coordination one last year and got a certificate. It's not like university credits but definitely good for professional development.

I've seen some of my colleagues add them to their LinkedIn. They seem to be recognized in the industry, especially for specific software like ETAP or DIgSILENT.

How long do you get access to the course materials after you finish a training program? Is it like forever or for a limited time?

G Grace T. 1 month ago
It's not forever but it's pretty generous. I still have access to the materials from a course I took months ago.

I think it's for a substantial period, not just a few weeks. Useful for refreshing later on.

Thinking about the solar PV design course but I'm also looking at some options on Coursera. How does ELP compare to like, Coursera or even Udemy?

J James Nelson 2 weeks ago
ELP is way more specialized and in-depth. Coursera/Udemy are good for intro stuff but ELP is proper engineering-level training. Not really a fair comparison.

C Carol Davis 2 weeks ago
Yeah, if you're serious about getting into the industry, ELP is probably the better bet. The instructors are usually actual industry pros, which isn't always the case elsewhere.

Does ELP ever have sales? Like for the PSS/E training, it's pretty pricey and I'm trying to save some cash.

W William Robinson 3 weeks ago
They don't do like big Black Friday sales or anything. I think I got a small early bird discount once when I registered way in advance.

N Nathan Roberts 3 weeks ago
From what I've seen, it's mostly early bird stuff or if your company pays for a group. Don't expect coupon codes floating around like for other sites.

wondering if they offer student discounts for their courses? I'm still in my master's program and want to get some extra training.

A Amber K. 3 weeks ago
I'm pretty sure they do. I remember seeing something about it when I was signing up for a course, though I didn't qualify.

S Sam Garcia 2 weeks ago
Yeah, they have a student discount for engineers. You probably need to show proof of enrollment or something.

What's the deal with payment plans? These courses are a big investment for an individual, wondering if I can spread out the cost.

A Adam D. 1 month ago
They do offer payment plans for professional courses, I know that for sure. You'd probably have to contact them directly to set it up though.

P Patricia Scott 1 month ago
Yeah, they usually have options. It's not super obvious on the site but if you ask, they can probably arrange something for you.

Anyone know how hard it is to cancel a course if something comes up? Like if I register and then my work schedule changes suddenly?

E Elizabeth T. 2 weeks ago
Their cancellation policy is pretty standard, I think. You get most of your money back if you cancel early enough, less if it's closer to the start date.

O Olivia Gomez 2 weeks ago
I had to cancel once. Got a full refund because it was well in advance. Check their site for the exact cutoffs.
